Day 3 began with going to Kate of Katelogy's studio and showroom in the Gangnam-gu area. Kate's jewellery is so beautiful and striking, the perfect statement pieces. I especially love the matte components she cleverly mixes with large sparkly and shiny jewels. It was great to sit down in Kate's studio and hear about her label and her process of designing. We had so much fun trying on all the beautiful Katelogy pieces and taking photos. My personal favourite is the necklace Bianca in the green coat is wearing below. Next we went on a private tour of the Dior Gallery. The building is incredible! Designed by Christian de Portzamparc, with many different artists works on the inside of the building. The walls of metal that looked like glow mesh were my favourite part of the interior, all connected by hand. The hand rail of the amazing stairs was molded by hand, I love how it looks like aluminum foil! Very beautiful foil!! For lunch we had a delicious poached chicken stuffed with rice in a boiling broth and of course kimchi. Next we went to Boon the Shop in the Cheongdam-dong shopping area. The shop had stunning high end designers and art works. The whole shop was like a gallery. I had a coffee in the shop which cost the equivalent of $9!! Luckily it was a good coffee and worth it for the people watching. The cafe provided some women near us special holders for their handbags so they didn't have to touch the ground. I love how passionate the Korean's are about their fashion and products. Next we went to our second parade of the trip Fashion Kode to watch Sept Points and Navy Factory lab. Fashion Kode also had a tradeshow part to it too which was great to chat to the designers. The designers pictured above are SOE Jakarta from Indonesia! Click here for more of their work. Mel had recently been involved with going over to Indonesia for a project with some Indonesian designers and ran into them in Seoul! As we got into our bus to leave Fashion Kode and go back to DDP for another HERA Seoul Fashion Week show one of the funniest things of the whole trip happened. All of a sudden 3 more people got into the bus and everyone assumed they must have been friends with Kate (our Korean designer mate) but they just thought it was their bus and were so confused. We couldn't stop laughing!! They said that they were fashion buyers so thought we probably should have taken them with us and forced them to buy our labels!! Once we were back at DDP we went to the basement level which is usually a car park but over Fashion Week they transform it into a trade show. Kate's jewellery was on display here at NineteenEighty with Comspace. We got to meet Jung Wook who had collaborated with Kate on some jewellery and was manning the trade show space. More info on NineteenEighty here. Kate loves having her photo taken. Loved people watching at Dongdaemun Design Plaza waiting to go into the HERA Fashion Week Seoul shows and seeing the amazing things everyone was wearing. Seeing The Studio K show was fantastic. The collection was a beautiful mix of male and female clothing in a pastel pallet with pillow props and fluffy hair. By day 3 we were all a little delirious! So when we found this fairy floss that lite up we were happy for the sugar fix and fun prop for photos! They had so many great food trucks out around DDP the one which the fairy floss is from is called Andy Candy Cotton Candy and another favourite name we saw was Very Food Truck!
