Reflecting on one of the most intense, inspiring and exciting weeks of my life!!
We started off going to Seoul National University first thing Monday morning. We got to meet Professor Ha and the 3 Korean designers, Se Hyung of AJOBYAJO, Eeunhee of EcommaE and Kate of Katelogy. Loved seeing the presentations of the 3 labels.
Se Hyung of AJOBYAJO pictured above, check out the link here for his amazingly cool and awesome oversized garments.
Kate of Katelogy pictured above talked to us about her fantastic costume jewellery with the perfect mix of shiny and matte. Link to her work here.
Pictured above is Eeunhee of the label EcommaE, also known as E,E. You will be seeing a lot more of Eeunhee! After these presentations we decided to work together as that is one of the aims of the project to do a collaboration and we clicked straight away. Eeunhee creates the most beautiful garments with interesting little details, she also loves experimenting with pattern making and loved my zero waste process and wants to work further with that. Clea pictured above is the designer of Limedrop, based in Melbourne. Her label is fun, colourful and takes you into another world. Her creative mind touches everything from designing nail polishes, socks, jewellery, sheets, glasses and of course clothing. For me click here.
Next up was my presentation, I showed my process of pattern making for my current collection and showed many pieces on and how they work on the body. I then let the students flick through my old visual diaries to show how I worked when I had more time to document it all.
Pictured above is Bianca Mavrick of her jewellery label by the same name. Bianca's jewellery is bold and dynamic. More of her beautiful work here.
